Max graduated from Gaepo High School in 2006. He was then accepted into Kyung Hee University. As of 2009, he is enrolled as a student of Kyung Hee University majoring in postmodern music.
In January 2008, Max volunteered with his father in the cleanup of the beaches in Taean, South Korea following the nation's worst oil spill in history. His trip to Taean was intended to be done in secrecy during a short break from his activities with TVXQ during the new year and was only made known to the media and public when another volunteer posted his sighting on a fan site. The incident was later confirmed by TVXQ's agent.
Shim Changmin (심창민) was grouped with the youngest participants in the audition. Like Xiah Junsu, he impressed the judges with his powerful voice. He joined the band under the name Choikang Changmin (최강창민; the English counterpart to his stage name is Max). Choikang in Korean means "the best;" "Max" became an international rendition of this name.

When recording TVXQ’s debut single ‘Hug’, Choikang Changmin had something else to worry about other than work. His grandmother, who doted on him the most, was ill at that period of time. Apart from giving his best in his career, he kept worrying about his grandmother’s condition. Changmin had even hurt his vocals during that period of time, due to him practicing their songs hard. An aquarius born in 1988, his blood type is B. Is greedy when it comes to music, so sometimes cries when he isn't satisfied with his singing. Because his parents are teachers, he is also very competitive and tries very hard at schoolwork and reading. Though the youngest in the group, he is the most modest and has the deepest thoughts. Can be honest and blunt when he strongly believes that something should not be done. Though shy at first, he is a very bright boy when you get to know him well. Followed his friend to an SM contest and luckily won the Best Singer award.
The youngest of our group Choikang Changmin is a crybaby. When his singing goes wrong he cries. But he has a brave side to him too. Starting from elementary school in 6th grade, he delivered newspapers as a part-time job. Changmin is the youngest in the family and group but noone can complete against his singing. His high note is so outstanding that he doesn't know what octave it goes up to. He says that hes worries that if he knows it might interrupt his singing. Changmin is a quiet person and doesn't talk very much. In an interview, he only says 2 or 3 things in the end. Changmin is a clear person who reads the Harry Potter Series and tells everyone about it. He participated in a singing contest and won an award. That led him to be a singer but before that he was regular student.
Max was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. He has two younger sisters, Shim Sooyeon and Shim Gi-yeon. He joined SM Entertainment by winning the best singer and best artist award in SM Entertainment's 6th Annual Youth Competition, a talent search conducted annually by the talent agency. He debuted with TVXQ in 2003 performing the group's debut song "Hug" on SBS network's BoA and Britney Spears showcase special.
Apart from his contribution in musical activities with TVXQ, Max has also participated in solo projects. In 2007, he wrote the lyrics to the track "Evergreen" which was composed by fellow band member Micky and included in SM Town's compilation album 2007 Winter SMTown - Only Love. In 2008, he wrote the Korean lyrics to "Love In The Ice" for the group's 4th Korean album Mirotic. In the same year, Max also sang his Japanese solo track "Wild Soul" for TVXQ's 17th Japanese single of the TRICK project, Two Hearts/Wild Soul.
In 2006, Max starred with TVXQ in the miniseries Vacation which had a special premiere and screening at the main auditorium of Yonsei University. He appeared in the episode "Beautiful Life" alongside Xiah. They also participated in a number of episodes of Banjun Drama, a popular minidrama series aired on SBS network. He was also the first choice in the drama Snow Flower, but was replaced by Kim Ki Bum due to the hectic schedule of the TVXQ members. In 2009, Max was cast in the drama series "Paradise Ranch".

Born in 1986, he is also an aquarius like Jaejoong. He is the team's leader and the bass vocal-part of the group. Having too many thoughts being a distinctive character trait of an A-blood type, Yunho also carries this trait. Won the Best Dancer award from SM and is the most talented in dancing. History
U-Know was born and raised in Gwangju, South Korea. He has a younger sister, Jung Ji-hye. At the age of thirteen he joined SM Entertainment, after winning a dance competition. Before debuting in 2003, U-Know appeared in label-mate Dana's music video for her song "Diamond" as a backup dancer and rapper.[1] He has said he chose his stage name to be U-Know because as the leader of the group, he wants to understand everybody as in "I know you."[2]

For The 2nd Asia Tour Concert 'O', U-know performed his self-composed song Spokesman. He and band-mate Micky are also featured rappers in "Heartquake" from Super Junior's Third Album, Sorry, Sorry.[3] For the Tohoshinki 4th Live Tour 2009: The Secret Code in Tokyo Dome, U-know performed his self-composed song Checkmate in Japanese.[4] In February 2010, it was announced that U-know would be performing in the Korea leg of the posthumous concert This Is It dedicated to legendary icon Michael Jackson. He will train in Los Angeles and Las Vegas with Genevieve Cleary, Morris Pleasure, and others who worked closely with Jackson. The project is the first joint production between Korea and the U.S.[5]

U-Know has appeared on two televised shows with TVXQ, Banjun Theater and Vacation.[6][7] In 2006, U-know made an appearance guest in Rainbow Romance. In July 2009, Jung was cast in the MBC miniseries "Heading to the Ground" (Hangul: 맨땅에 헤딩).[8][9]

While the group was filming a variety show on October 14, 2006, U-Know was rushed to the hospital after drinking a beverage, which was laced with super glue, that had been given to him by an anti-fan. His manager quickly instructed him to vomit right afterward.[10] The anti-fan turned herself in the next day. The female suspect, whose surname is Ko, was apprehended on October 16, was a member of an anti-TVXQ website for over two years. Ko wrote a letter to U-Know:
| “ | To, Jung Yunho You watch your mouth!! Ever since the debut you were so stuck up. You won't last after a couple years... You would be forever seen as some teen idol not real singer. Do you know your limit? Only little kids like you!... I really want to kill you.[fn 1][11] | ” |
U-Know, who has a younger sister the same age as the culprit, contacted the police and requested that they not press charges against Ko in spite of the potentially severe consequences of what she did. He mentioned on a television show a while after he had recovered that the entire event "affected [him] more mentally than physically".[12][13] There were many unanswered questions, such as why U-know drank from the open container, and how the culprit managed to enter the building of the broadcasting station.[14]

Born on December 15, 1986, he is a Sagittarius. Has the middle-high vocal part in the group. The group labels him as an innocent and bright boy. On the other hand, he makes a 180 degree change on stage and performs with great charisma. Maintains order and balance in the group when they face difficulty. Possibly because of his long 6 year training, he is very empathetic and thinks a lot about people's feelings. Plays the piano well and is very poetic -- he enjoys writing poems. One of his dreams in life is to have his writing published into a book. One of his motivations in his singing career is the unachieved dream of his mother, who once dreamed of being a star.
Xiah Junsu, who wanted to become an athlete
In our group, there is a member who gets support from girls who were former Miss Koreas. Why? Because Junsu's mom is a former Miss Korea. I guess Joonsu got his pretty and delicate looks from his mom. Junsu was known in his junior high years to be a good singer. In the morning gatherings, when Junsu sang the school song, it went through the speakers and was heard by the whole school. But Junsu wanted to be a athlete. He was in the baseball and soccer team and he stills likes sports now. But after he saw H.O.T on TV, his dream was to "sing on stage".
He has sensitive teeth, and he says they hurt when he eats ice cream.
He has an older fraternal twin brother named Junho, known as Zuno. He was the first member to join TVXQ. Xiah auditioned for SM Entertainment with best friend Eunhyuk from Super Junior. Eunhyuk didn't make the audition that year, but Xiah made it. Xiah joined SM Entertainment at the age of eleven. His first contract with the company began February 12, 2000. In 2002 he appeared on a television show called "2002 Survival Audition" with Eunhyuk and Sungmin, which was judged by two members from H.O.T., Moon Hee Jun and Kangta. Kangta praised him highly, saying that he had potential as a lead vocalist. Xiah debuted with the group TVXQ, during a BoA and Britney Spears showcase.[2] He chose Xiah to be his stage name, explaining that the name was short for "Asia", as Asia is pronounced "ah-shee-ah" in Korean. "Xiah" would be an implication of his desire to become not only a star in Korea, but also a star recognized all throughout the continent.[2]

In 2002, Xiah participated in the 6th Annual Starlight Casting System, which led him to be casted by SM Entertainment to take part in TVXQ.[3] He also participated in Samsung's Anycall project, Anyband. The group consisted of label-mate BoA, Tablo of Epik High, and jazz pianist Jin Bora. The group has only released one single, "AnyBand".[4][5][6] In 2006, he collaborated with label-mate Zhang Liyin, for her debut single "Timeless".[7] Xiah wrote and composed "Nae Gyeote Sumsiur Su Ittdamyeon (White Lie)" (네 곁에 숨쉴 수 있다면), which was included on TVXQ's third studio album, "O"-Jung.Ban.Hap.. For the Trick project, he composed his solo "Rainy Night".[8] Xiah also wrote "Noeur.. Baraboda (Picture of You)" (노을..바라보다), which was featured in the group's fourth Korean album, Mirotic.[9] For the Tohoshinki 4th Live Tour 2009: The Secret Code in Tokyo Dome, Xiah performed his self-composed song Xiahtic in Japanese. In January of 2010, Xiah started his stage musical career as the lead actor in the South Korean run of Mozart!.[10]
After it was revealed that TVXQ would go on a indefinite hiatus in Japan, it was announced that Xiah would make a solo debut.[11] He will release a double A-side single on May 26, 2010.[11] A song that Xiah recorded titled "Kanashimi no Yukue" (悲しみのゆくえ The Whereabouts of Sadness) will be used as the theme song for the Japanese drama 5nen Atono Love Letter (５年後のラブレター Go-nen Atono Rabu Retā, A Love Letter, 5 Years From Now).[12] In May 2010,there was also a teaser released,showing Xiah's self-composed song called "Intoxication".

Xiah has appeared on two televised shows with TVXQ, Banjun Theater and Vacation.He also made a guest appearance in Family Outing. [13][14] He also played the main role in the Korean version of the musical "Mozart!", for which the performances he attended were all sold out.

Acting Career:
He played the main role for the telecinema Heaven's Postman (천국의 우편 배달부) (SBS, 2010). It is about a mysterious man who delivers letters to heaven for people who can’t forget their deceased loved ones. His co-star is Han Hyo Joo.
He is also one of the main casts in the Japanese television drama Hard To Say I Love You (Sunao ni Narenakute, 素直になれなくて) (Fuji TV, 2010) where he portrays Doctor, who moved from Korea to Japan with his younger sister, working for a medical equipment manufacturer. He won the best supporting actor award for it. (Honestly, If Jaejoong wasn't in this drama I would find it boring...)

- Jaejoong is adopted. His real name is Han Jae Jun (한재준)
On November 21, 2006, a man with the surname Han filed a lawsuit against Hero's guardians. Han claimed he was Hero's biological father, and thus wanted parental rights. Han cited the reason for the lawsuit against Hero's legal guardians as "for not going through the proper procedures before registering Hero in the legal guardians' custody." He divorced Hero's biological mother in late 1980s, and gave up his custody over his child, leaving him under Mrs. Han's custody. However, he had found out some years ago Hero had been raised by a third party, not his biological mother. A DNA test was to be performed in order to prove validity of Han's claim. Many legal consultants comment that since the adoption had taken place correctly according to the corresponding law, no legal change will be involved regardless of the outcome. The first hearing was to be held in Hero's hometown, Gongju, on November 29, 2006. But on November 22, Han dropped the charges against Hero's legal guardians. Han said that he originally intended to resolve his biological son's military duty conflicts after being informed of dual citizenship by Ministry of Military Affairs, which involved verifying the fact that he is the biological father. He did not expect his intention to lead to such a scandal, and states that he was scarred by speculations that he wanted to take advantage of Hero's fame. In reaction to the matter, Hero uploaded a journal entry on his official fan club website, and said that he was informed of the existence of separate biological parents by his mother two or three years ago, and it had been quite a shock to him. With his current mother's support, his biological mother has been able to keep in touch with him, and to meet occasionally, but whereabouts of his father had been unknown. He vigorously expressed his will to live by the name of "Kim Jaejoong," not by his birth name Han Jaejoon , and promised to be loyal to all four of his parents. - He likes to cook. All the members says his cooking is exceptional. One of his specialty is jiggae. Of course he always makes it spicy. I think he always carry his spicy sauce wherever he went.
- He has 8 older sisters (not his real sisters). He's the youngest and only son.
- His concept during debut is being "mysterious" so the company told him,
"don't talk. Just sing."
But Jaejoong has the talkative personality so now he talks a lot on shows and he gives funny comments once in a while which gave him the image of a funny guy. - He's very straight-forward. He says whatever he wants to say and the other members worries a lot about cleaning up jaejoong's mess or about their secrets being revealed by Jaejoong.^^

- He has the nicest body in TVXQ because his hobby is weight training but ever since he realized his face doesn't fit his body build he stopped working out. (I think it's perfectly fine to have a masculine body with a pretty face and since it's Jaejoong I think its totally SEXY and HOT!)
- On April 7, 2006 at 1:20 AM, he was pulled over in his father's friend's BMW by a police officer on his way home from the Renaissance Hotels. He was ordered to take a breath test and his level of alcohol was revealed to be 0.071%. After spending 20 minutes at the police station, he was released. Due to violating traffic laws, Hero was temporarily suspended from all TVXQ activities and had his license taken away for 100 days. (I believe it was the day he found out he was adopted.)
- He likes to drink. Micky said he went drinking with Jaejoong and HyunJoong(SS501) and he couldn't keep up with those two. Junsu said that once Jaejoong become drunk he becomes so adorable...^^,
- He cried a lot when one of his bestfriends, Park Yun Ha, died and he was in LA
- Gadget freak. He has lots of ipods and phones on his bag and when he was asked why he brings so much ipod he said that one ipod isn't enough because the pressure of having to charge the battery is just too much for him
- He likes girls with pretty hands and feet
- He likes taking weird photos and the other members are his usual subjects.
- He's a guy with a good fashion sense.I think he likes wearing boots because I usually see him wear them.
- His sports is badminton and he claims he's very good at it.
- When he was young his dream was to be a supermarket owner because he would be able to eat whatever he want.
- He's very poor in bowling.
- He's radiating with over-confidence but he always fails in the end. He seems to be very confident in almost everything. He uses words like saiko and tensai to describe himself. Also, in one tv program he claims he's the best in the world when it comes to rock-paper-scissors game but he loses from the very start. It was so funny and cute...^^
- In September 2005, while rehearsing the dance steps for "Rising Sun", Jaejoong ruptured his cartilage in his knee and was admitted to a hospital in Seoul. He underwent surgery on the same day to repair the tissue.

How I Met TVXQ
The first time they caught my attention they were actors in some Korean drama called Banjun Theater.
They were amazingly entertaining and I instantly liked them...
During that time there are other things that occupied my mind so I eventually lost interest in them
Months passed and fate made its move.
A friend of mine that I haven't seen for a long time mistakenly sent me a message that mentioned something about a group called DBSK.
The message wasn't intended for me but for some other person who has the same name as mine.
The name DBSK was so familiar that I tried to recall where I've heard or seen that name.
That same friend introduced to me a song called "Doushite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimattandarou", the longest song title I've ever heard.
In English it means "Why did I end up falling for you."
I saw the music video of that song and seeing their faces made me recall everything.
Being a music lover I fell in love with that song instantly.
What made them more amazing to me is that they could speak Japanese so fluently.
And that's when I started to become a fan.

With "Love in the Ice" I saw a loving and caring TVXQ

I love it when they joke and mess around like little kids
I love it every time they sing and face each other as they do
I love how their voices can sound so good together that even if only one voice is missing it won't sound as good
I love it when they dance together
I love their live performances and the fact that around 90% of the time they perform they do it live
I love to see them receive awards because they always go on the stage together

Mnet Asian Music Awards 2009
TVXQ won the Best Asia Star Award
They won so I should be happy but no...
I feel like crying because right there on the stage stood three of the members...
just the three of them...
Then Jaejoong said, "I don't know if they are watching this or not... But just in case they are... I would like to tell those two friends that I love them"
It was new year's eve. I was watching television while waiting for the year 2010 to come.
I switched the channel to NHK and saw a jpop group that I'm familiar with.
Later I realized that the show was called Kouhaku, an event that happens every new year's eve where all the big artists in Japan performs.
I waited a little more hoping to see the five guys that I adore. And I did...
I saw them sing "Stand by U" that night.
It was so unexpected that I was so happy to see them and that I didn't realize the pain they were feeling at that time. I didn't notice the unhappiness emanating from Tohoshinki in that performance. And I had no idea that that live performance will probably be their last.
At that time I already know about the law suit but I didn't realize the seriousness of it.
I searched the net and I was able to watch that performance again.
And then I finally noticed.
In the Secret Code Concert before the law suit I saw a radiant TVXQ.
In Kouhaku after the law suit I saw a mournful TVXQ.
"Stand by U" is a sad ballad but their performance in Kouhaku made it even more mournful than it was supposed to be.
I can see how these five guys matured during the past year...
Xiah Junsu
He's so funny and he always wear a bright smile that even though he's not doing anything... by just looking at him I find myself laughing for no reason
Lately, he released a single entitled Intoxication and after that...
Gone all his cute image that he's been trying to put up for so long...
Micky Yoochun
He cries easily...
laughs easily..

Yeongwoong Jaejoong
He has such a pretty face that I always want to stare at him and such a beautiful voice that makes me always want to listen to his songs

But now he said, "The relationship between the members is good but if TVXQ is what destroys it then TVXQ is not needed."
Choikang Changmin
He always hide his feelings inside of him. While the others cry he will put up a smile on his face and say thanks to the fans.
He's maybe the youngest but he's the most matured.
November 15, 2008. During the 2008 MKMF when MIROTIC won the Album of the Year Award... Changmin, who never cries in front of the fans, cried for the first time.
U-know Yunho
A good hardworking leader. I've always believed TVXQ doesn't need a leader. Every member knows their roles and are amazing on their own.
But right now... Right now Leader-sshi is most needed...
It was definitely fate that made me able to meet them.
It was music that made me fall in love with them.
By singing their songs I also learned how to sing from the heart...
By being so dorky they made me laugh so many times...
Through their heartbreaking songs they made me cry so many times...
Crying while listening to their songs is ok
But crying because I miss them so much is not.
It's alright to cry if these tears are because of "Love in the Ice", "Saranga Uljima", "Jigeum Cheoreom", "White lie", "Afterglow", "Wasurenaide" or "Proud"
It's alright to cry if it means their feelings reach my heart as I listen to them singing those songs
But this tears from my eyes are not because of that...
This tears are because I miss them so much...
This tears are because even though I say I'LL ALWAYS KEEP THE FAITH the truth is I'm so tired of waiting
And as time passes by it feels like that FAITH fades little by little...
And I'm scared that instead of hearing news like "TVXQ are going to release their next album..." I will hear something like "TVXQ announced their official disbandment"
I'm scared that their "Stand by U" Kouhako performance will be their last live performance as TVXQ
I'm scared that I wouldn't be able to see them in a live stage again
Cassiopeia fights for TVXQ
December, 2009 - Flash mob where Cassies danced Mirotic and Balloons in front of SM Entertainment building in Seoul
2009 up to present - boycott. Cassies stopped buying Dong Bang Shin Ki's album to prevent SME from earning more than they deserve.
July 4, 2010 - Worldwide flash mob. Cassies around the world danced to TVXQ's songs in different countries at the same time.
Big East made Tohoshinki number 1 in japan charts by buying Best Selection 2010, Break Out, Toki wo Tomete and A-side and B-side Collection album.
Cassiopeia is staying strong but we do get tired too...
